Mayflowers Descendants Descend on Digby Pines

September 27, 2016

On September 24, Digby Pines Resort hosted the annual general meeting for The Nova Scotia Colony of Mayflower Descendants. This group is dedicated to bringing together descendants of voyagers who came to Nova Scotia on the the historical Mayflower.

Their annual meeting included a presentations by Bill Curry and Ian Lawrence. Bill, Regent of the Mayflower Colony, gave a photo presenation from Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the Mayflower departed from.

Ian Lawrence discussed why Mayflower descendants chose Annapolis County as their destination in the 1700's. The meeting called for anyone who had information on their ancestors possibly coming over on the Mayflower, to attend the meeting and to become a member.

What better spot to choose for a historical meeting, other than Digby Pines? We're an integral part of the Canadian Pacific Railway and were once WWI officers quarters.

We make organizing and holding a meeting, simple. Our Conference and Events Coordinator, Linda Weir has been with us for over 10 years and makes sure every detail is covered. We can offer spacious meeting rooms, an extensive menu and a specialized rate.

Historically charming, we are the perfect spot to hold your next Nova Scotia conference.

It's That Time Again...

Tuesday, September 20

Well... it's that time of year gang. We are getting ready to close the doors at Digby Pines for another season.

But before we do, we just want to let everyone know, what a great season we had! From brunches to brides, it was the best summer ever!

Kicking off opening day in May, we got to welcome back Chef Dale Nichols! He whipped up a new menu and continued to floor us with his edible creations. We love opening weekend, because it means a lot of our regular guests return with smiles on their face.

As sad as it was to close the tennis courts, we were happy to work with the Town of Digby to offer local lessons. We were also excited to offer Thursday and Friday Yoga, to both our guests and local residents.

Fletcher Hicks, our Assistant Golf Professional, wowed staff and guests, by playing 8 rounds of golf in a row to raise money for the Prostate Society of Canada!

We were happy tho host our 7th Annual Chidlrens Wish Foundation golf tournament, along with our annual Family Day, Kids Art Contest and a Paint Nite in Support of the Children's Wish Foundation.

Our staff continues to wow us year after year. Thank you to everyone for an incredible 2016 season and we cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for us!
