The Adventure called Digby

March 24, 2017

There’s lots to see in the small town of Digby, Nova Scotia. The adventure you’ll find at Digby Pines Resort and Spa will ignite the explorer in you.

The opportunities for your unforgettable vacation are endless but I’m going to share with you my three favourite adventures in Digby.

1. Whale Watching
Did you know that the Bay of Fundy is one of the best areas in the world to go whale watching? On the east coast you'll have a chance to see 12 different species of whales including Finback Whales, Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoises in the spring, and Humpback Whales in June. Besides the variety of whales, chances are you’ll see porpoises, seals and seabirds! And the best news is, on this wiId adventure it’s rare that you won’t see a whale!

2. Beachcombing
Digby Pines is only short drive from Sandy Cove Beach. This hidden gem is a soft and sandy beach on the coast of Digby Neck. Although the water can be a bit cold for swimming, the water is usually calm, which is perfect for potential seal sightings! If you feel like driving a little further, Mavillette Beach in Clare will take your breath away. The 1.5 km scenic walk along the shore will refresh your spirit. They also offer supervised swimming on Saturdays and Sundays in the months of July and August.

3. Hiking
Digby is the home to some of the most unique walking trails, including the Balancing Rock on Long Islands. This is a relatively simple trail that travels through the woods on a mostly level path with boardwalks provided for the wetter sections. The natural wonder of the rock at the end of the trail will be well worth the hike!

Along with the adventure you’ll have on your vacation in Nova Scotia, you’ll also have a chance to recharge with Chef Dale’s delicious dishes, take a dip in our outdoor heated pool or play a round on our 18-hole Stanley Thompson golf course. The Pines has everything you need to make unforgetable memories this summer.
