Keep Up Your Swing!
November 21, 2016
A Nova Scotia winter, doesn't always give you the chance to hit the green in January. Although colder weather doesn't mean you can't keep your swing up to par. Our team at Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa knows just how important it is to stay in tip, top shape from October - April until the greens are open again!
Here's a few tips to practice your swing this winter:
1) Pillows are not just for sleeping
As your about to swing, it comes down to your core and having balance. Getting better control over your swing, is as easy as standing on a pillow! Place the pillow on the ground. Balance on your left leg, until you can no longer hold your balance; switch feet and repeat. The balancing will cause your core to strenghten and give better balance when you follow through.
2) Loosen up a little!
If you don't stetch, neither will your swing! From your head to your toes, make time to stretch, every single day. You'll notice a difference in your flexibility and your strength. Lay on the floor, with your head on a pillow and bring each knee, up to your chest. Hold the knee to your chest for 30 sec. This will give your hips an incredible stretch!
3) Videos Are Not Just For Music
Try watching golf imrpovement videos on YouTube. It sounds ludicrous, but being able to watch their tips and then apply them, makes a huge difference. Even if you practice holding your club different, in your basement or wherever.
