1. Lighthouse Tour
First and foremost, you cannot take a trip to our seaside coast without checking out some of our notable lighthouses. Did you know that there is over 150 lighthouses in Nova Scotia? Each with an incredible story to tell. Take a stop at Gilberts Cove Lighthouse, located along the Fundy Shore. This lighthouse also has a beautiful walking area to enjoy. Pack a lunch and make a picnic out of it!
2. Maud Lewis House
Did you know that there is a true-to-scale replica of Maud Lewis’ house, just outside Digby? The Maud Lewis House location has been a huge tourist attraction for many years. Especially now, after the release of her biography this year! This replica (the original is located at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia) was made by hand by a local man, Murray Ross, as a tribute to her art and story. This creative piece is well worth a quick stop at 11585 highway 217, about 10 minutes outside of town. Don’t forget to leave a donation in the box!
