Guided Kayak Tours

You can request a variation of these 4 tours, or design a custom tour to suit you. Minimum of 2 people required. Trips are scheduled upon request, generally requiring 1 day advance notice, depending on availability. All entail a short portage over the causeway, except the Frenchman’s Basin Tour. Cormorants, Great Canadian Loons, Herring Gulls and Great Blue Herons are commonly seen on these tours. Seals, Sea Ducks and Bald Eagles are occasionally seen.

Kayak Intro Course

Our basic intro course will get you going – even if you have never set foot in a kayak. The course takes about 2 hours and covers: review of equipment, proper entry and control, paddle strokes and manoeuvrability, focus on building confidence and underwater exit and partner assist rescue. Courses are scheduled by request and according to weather. Mornings at 10:00am are generally an ideal time. Includes all necessary equipment. $50 per person (plus tax), minimum 2 people.

Tour the Town by Kayak

A delightful perspective of the town from the waters of Annapolis Basin, imagining the bustle of the seaport and sailing vessels of yesteryear, viewing some of the town’s oldest buildings and Fort Anne, as well as the quaint village of Granville Ferry. 2 people – $50 each, 4 people – $40 each (plus tax).

Frenchman’s Basin

Crossing the basin from the campground, then a normally quiet paddle along the shoreline, passing the marsh at Annapolis Royal, the Tidal Dam and Tidal Generation Station (one of only three in the world). 2 people – $50 each, 4 people – $40 each (plus tax).

Allain’s Creek – Saltwater Marsh

Passing by the waterfront of Annapolis Royal, then a serene trip up the winding creek through the saltwater marshlands. Passing by the Historic Gardens and taking a break at Lequille Historic Grist Mill before returning to Dunromin Campground. 2 people – $85 each, 4 people – $75 each (plus tax).

Goat Island Bird Habitat

Following the shoreline of Annapolis Basin West (open water) to Port Royal and the “Habitation”. Landing on Goat Island for bird watching, then circling the island by kayak and returning east to Dunromin Campground. 2 people – $135 each, 4 people – $100 each (plus tax).
