Keeping You Safe

As we welcome you back to Digby Pines, our team’s highest priority is providing both Guests and Employees with a safe environment. We ask for your patience as our industry reinvents itself to safely serve our valued guests.  We continue to monitor and implement protocols with direction from Nova Scotia Public Health and our industry association partners. Our product and available resort services and amenities will continue to evolve as the season progresses. Please continue to monitor this site for updates.

           Property Wide Commitments:

  • Employees are required to practice frequent hand washing and sanitizing procedures

  • Guests are encouraged to use Frequent cleaning schedules are in place for all high traffic public areas and frequently touched surfaces such as payment terminals, door handles, telephones, counters, and guest seating.

  • Payment terminals and pinpads will be cleaned frequently.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be located in all guest and staff areas on property.

  • We encourage debit/credit cards as method of payment on property.

  • Employees will have access to personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks and gloves. Staff who are unable to remain physically distanced will be required to wear PPE.

  • Social distancing is in effect, directional signage is posted in all public waiting areas.

  • Employees have been asked to refrain from hand shaking.

  • A Cleanliness Manager will assist with oversight property wide and employees are pre-screened daily
  • Our Front Desk is equipped with plexiglass safety shields.
  • Front Desk services will be available from 8 AM to 10 PM daily. We anticipate these hours of operation will continue until mid-July. The property will be staffed 24 hours a day and guests will be provided with a contact number at check-in to reach a member of our team at all times.
  • The main lodge with the exception of the Front Desk will remain closed during our first phase of reopening. Guests with mobility restrictions can call the Front Desk (902-245-2511) upon arrival for curb side check in.
  • For guests arriving after 10 PM please call Guest Services between 8 AM – 9:30 PM to arrange for a late check in. (1-902-245-2511)
  • Sanitizer will be accessible to guests and staff, positioned on both sides of the safety shields.
  • Limited guests will be allowed in our Front Desk area at one time. There will be indicators of where to stand. We recommend only one member of your travel party enter the building to check-in.
  • Payment will be processed at the time of arrival. Additional services or products will be payable when service is rendered.
  • Guests will be required to notify Guest Services of their departure by phone, this allows our housekeepers to know when the room is vacant so it can be thoroughly cleaned.
  • Guests will receive an electronic copy of their bill the day of departure. This will allow for express check out as well as reducing the guest points of contacts during the billing process.
  • Key cards can be left in the room or cottage to be sanitized before reuse.
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been implemented to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with attention paid to high-touch items such as light switches, bedside tables, telephones, lamps, door handles, fridges, bathroom handles and fixtures, toilets, remote controls, desks, temperature controls and furniture.

  • Items such as coffee makers, ice buckets, ironing boards, extra linens/pillows, and paper amenities have been removed from the rooms, but are available upon request.

  • All guest amenities such as soap and shampoo will be single use, personal sized items.

  • All room deliveries will be dropped off outside your door.

  • Team members will not be entering guest rooms while they are occupied except in the event of an emergency.

  • A Cleanliness Manager has been appointed and will define our cleaning and safety standard, ensuring staff, guests and visitors are following precautions and policies.   We will actively monitor and evolve our solutions to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of all of our guests and our Pines team.
  • 19th Hole Clubhouse will be open 11 AM – 7  PM daily, takeout/curb side pickup and dine in will be available based on provincial legislation.  View our Menu and more information here.
  • Room Service to cottages will be available from the 19th hole between 5 PM – 7 PM.
  • We have a boxed breakfast available for packages including breakfast. Example menu here.
  • All F&B staff will be equipped with PPE and practice hand washing and/or sanitation between each guest transaction.
  • We encourage debit/credit as the method of payment. At this time, Room Charging will not be available.
  • Point of Sale systems and payment terminals will be sanitized on a regular and frequent basis with wireless pin pads available from your server to reduce traffic and promote safe distancing.
  • All guest table settings will be prepared by staff wearing PPE while practicing safe and sanitary measures.
  • Tables will be positioned to ensure social distancing
  • Table settings will be brought as the table is seated.
  • All culinary team members will continue to practice safe food handling and take extra precaution regarding close working quarters and disinfecting surfaces.
  • All culinary team members will be required to wear face masks while on shift.
  • All guests should familiarize themselves with NSGA’s updated golf procedures prior to their tee times.

  • Recommended that all Golfers arrange a tee-time prior to arriving at the course.

  • When booking tee times, golfers will be made aware of the measures the course has taken to make it safe to play. If they book online they will receive information by email, if they call an operator will inform them.

  • Tee time intervals will be managed to ensure groups are evenly spaced throughout the entire round.

  • Arrival areas and practice areas will be monitored to ensure that physical distancing is observed at all times, with a minimum of two metres between individuals.

  • Guests are to ask Pro shop attendant for assistance for retail purchases

  • Golf cart, pull cart. club and bag rentals are cleaned and disinfected before and after each use.

  • Power carts must be used by one individual only, unless being shared by members of the same household or family bubble.

  • Golfers will not be forced to share golf cars. Cart Rentals are charged per seat, not per cart.

On the Course

  • Play will be monitored to ensure physical distancing is maintained.

  • Groups will consist of no more than four (4) golfers.

  • Groups will be directed to the tee to start their round.

  • Benches, are currently allowed

  • Ball washers, towels, and bunker rakes have been removed

  • On course washrooms are open

  • Unless dining at the 19th hole, Golfers are asked to leave immediately following their round to avoid gatherings.

  • Private / group lessons (no more than 5 people) are permitted by trained professionals provided that all physical distancing measures can be observed.

  • Flags Sticks MUST NOT be touched. Please use the modified ball removal on the bottom of the flag stick
  • Spa will be open on Friday, Saturdays & Sundays 11 AM – 8 PM by appointment only. Starting July 10th.
  • Appointments can be booked by calling (902) 245-7726, messages will be monitored daily.
  • Facial masks are required to be warn by guests and staff for all services.
  • Some treatments may not be available due to COVID 19 restrictions. 
  • Appointments will be spaced out to ensure time for proper cleaning
  • We are following all suggested regulations and guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
  • Pool is open with limited hours.
  • We anticipate certain facilities will remain restricted and until we can better assess how these areas can safely operate once legislation allows, the following resort areas will remain closed: Spa, Fitness Center, Shuttle Service, Churchill’s Restaurant, and Gift Shop.  We ask for your patience and understanding as we slowly reopen these services based on legislation and demand
