The Southwest Nova Biosphere is one of only 18 reserves in Canada. Digby Neck/ Long Island and Brier Island are also famous for bird watching during the spring and fall migrations. The diversity of birds in the area offers a thrill and possibly some “lifers” for Birders. Brier Island is home of the globally rare plant, the eastern mountain avens found only in two regions of the world: on Brier and nearby islands and in New Hampshire.
